Hi all! My name is Rosie, and I graduated from the UVA in 2022 with a degree in Public Policy & Leadership and Global Development Studies. For the past few years, I have been working in the international development and global health field. In my first post-grad role, I worked on a USAID contract supporting locally led global nutrition programs across Nutrition and Health Systems and Early Childhood Development teams. One of my favorite projects was developing a breastfeeding counseling mentorship program in Kenya, which sparked my interest in women's and maternal health.

My path since then has taken me from on-the-ground program implementation with government partners to macro-level research on global health financing and development economics at a think tank. Currently, I work at the Center for Global Development as a research assistant on the Global Health team, where I conduct research and data analysis to inform evidence-based policy reform in LMICs. My work focuses on nutrition, vaccine manufacturing, immunization, and the role of key global health institutions, and I contribute to publications that aim to guide decision-making for policymakers, donors, and global health institutions.

As the aid landscape evolves amid major budget cuts, the development community is facing tough choices about how to allocate scarce resources strategically and effectively to maximize impact. While the field is going through a challenging period, there is still meaningful work to be done. I credit David and my GDS classes with encouraging me to pursue this path, and I am so glad I did. Like many of you, I am still figuring out my next steps and where my career might lead.

I am always happy to chat with GDS students, so please feel free to reach out!
