Our Vision

Beloved GDS alumni,

It is with great pleasure that we send you the inaugural edition of a newsletter specifically for graduates of GDS.  Our intention is to help you stay connected to each other, first and foremost. We also hope you might offer the occasional word of advice to current students and, when you feel inspired, faculty in the program.  We will try to share a version once every two months provided that you send in interesting stories for us to share. We’ll also keep you apprised of developments here.  For those who graduated a few years or more ago, we can announce that we have a new faculty member, Professor Rolando Vargas, whom we share with the Art Department. More on him below.   Thanks to a current GDS student, Fabiola Maldonado Rivera, for getting these first stories written down and as many emails as she could. Fabiola also designed the web site. Please send us feedback on the design so that we can improve as we go. We have two requests for you.  First, we have missed quite a few alumni.  If you would, please forward this edition to your friends and ask them to contact me and Fabiola if they want to receive the newsletter. Second, we have put ideas for logos for the newsletter at the end of this edition. One was designed by Rolando, and others by a group of current students.  Let us know which speak to you if you have other ideas.

What a pleasure to imagine you all together, even in cyber space.

David
